Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born 12 November 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now Onestiin Gheorghe Gheorghiu dej, now Onesti Romania). She was the first to be the first athlete to get a perfect 10 in an Olympic celebration. Comaneci was first discovered by Bela Karolyi who was later her Romanian gymnastics instructor when she was just six years old. Comaneci competed for the first time at the junior national championships, finishing 13th. After that she won the title of champion. She was awarded three golds during her first competition in a junior pre-Olympic meeting in 1972, which was a the communist countries of the bloc. In 1973 and 1974she won the junior all-around champion. She topped Russian Lyudmila Torishcheva who was the five-time European champion, at her first senior international event in 1975. In the event, she was awarded four golds and one silver. In 1976, she became the first female performer to make reverse double salos using the uneven parallel bar, as part of her dismount. She won the title of the American Cup, held in New York City. Carol Marie Wayne is a American citizen who was born on September 6 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol ventured into the entertainment industry during her teens. She made her debut as a figure skater, performing alongside her younger cousin Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show that were known as Ice Capades. These shows included ice skating and other shows, which were also accompanied with musical theatre.
